People ask frequently about what they should wear on our fishing trips. With our shortest trip being 6 hours long coming unprepared for your trip could spell a long day on the water. We want to make sure you come prepared, so you can make the most of your trip and have a fantastic experience
The important thing to remember for a half-day trip is to bring clothes for both and cold & warm weather. If you're going on the morning, half day trip, dress warmly in the morning and bring lighter clothes to change into when it gets warm in the afternoon. If you're going on the afternoon trip dress lighter in the afternoon with warmer clothes to change into in the evening when it gets cool. If you’re going fishing on the full-day trip, bring clothes for both the warm and the cold. It always pays to be prepared
Sunglasses With (sunglasses straps)
Closed-toed shoes, preferably boots, we prefer the Xtratuf brand
Coat or jacket
Shorts and pants the weather can change frequently offshore
waterproof jacket
Sun Mask (Optional)
Preparing for an overnight trip requires more preparation since you'll be spending at least one night on the boat. It is important to bring multiple changes of clothes because you never know when you will get fish blood, seawater or who knows what on your clothing.
It's essential to prepare for every kind of weather including rain heat or cold. It can also be nice to bring some leisurely clothes in the evening to relax in
Preparing for a long-range trip is the most involved process depending on the length of your trip I would bring several pairs of clothing pack like you would for a vacation follow all the recommendations above to ensure that you are well prepared and comfortable for your long-range trip. It's best to call the office of your long-range boat to know precisely what you should bring
All of our boats have a full-service galley but feel free to bring your food or snacks as long as there is no alcohol (don't worry we serve beer), and it is not in a cooler
Fishing License & Passport (Learn more about regulations here)
If you forget anything, do not worry! We have one of the largest tackle shops on the West Coast. We can set you up with anything you may have forgotten. The shop is decked out, so if you want to make the switch from closed-toed shoes to xtratuffs, or anything else, we got you covered.
